The works of the artists represented in this exhibition have in common that they employ everyday materials to create room installations that produce an atmosphere of dynamics and motion: motion within the room, as well as dialogic motion towards the spectator who is – sensually and associatively – entangled in a network of different levels and meanings of perception; their aim is a creative process of communication.

Wolfgang Winter and Berthold Hörbelt have been working together for many years, publishing their work under the common label of Winter/Hoerbelt. In our exhibition they furnish the whole first floor of the KunstLANDing with – in part interactive installations and sculptural works in which they extract the metal spring cores from mattrasses and transform them into an artistic context.

On the second floor, Hans Rose will build a room installation of pictorial and haptic power out of several tons of buttons. Senga Negundi’s sculptures of nylon panty hoses reveal multi-layered expressiveness with social significance. The twin sisters Irene and Christine Hohenbüchler often include other, non-professional, people artistically and therapheutically in their production process: their knitted dolls populate furnished rooms that can be rearranged by the visitors.

Painting and Poetry

Bruno Querci, Nelio Sonego, Carlo Invernizzi
20. May– 8. July 2012
Opening Sa 19. May 2012 um 18.00

artist talk : Sunday 20. May 11.30

The Italian painters Bruno Querzi and Nelio Sonego will show their works in dialogue with the lyrics of Carlo Invernizzi. The exhibition has been planned and prepared in close correlation to the given space of our house, the KunstLANDing. Together we decided to present their interaction: On the ground floor, as well as on the first and second, the two painters show, together with Invernizzi’s lyrics from his book of poetry entitled Secretizie , the result of their encounter.

On the first floor new works from the cycle Infinitotraccia ed Energicoforma by Querci will be displayed. In his austere restriction to black and white as well as the space-related vocabulary of horizontal and vertical, the artist thematizes the continuous commonality of past, present and future.

On the second floor, Sonego shows works from his cycle Orizzontaleverticale originating from the year 2003 until now; the title indicates the direction of his vividly coloured contouring. Although he confines himself to the formal scheme of the rectangle, the pictorial process - executed with acrylic paint from spray cans – is a spontaneous-expressive and meditative act not permitting any interruption.
